What's your cold-weather cigar? Need something for porch smoking in 40-degree weather

Winter's here and I'm still committed to my evening porch smoke, but the cold changes everything. Lighter cigars lose their flavor in the cold air, thin ring gauges go out constantly in the wind, and anything over an hour becomes an endurance test. Last year my go-to was the Padron 3000 Maduro — dark, earthy, enough body to punch through the cold, and the robusto size keeps the smoke time around 45 minutes. But I'm looking to branch out this year. Criteria: full body (or at least medium-full), thick ring gauge for wind resistance, 45-60 minute smoke time, and ideally under $12. What are you smoking when it's cold out?

Oliva Serie V Double Robusto. 60 ring gauge means it handles wind like a champ, the dark chocolate and espresso flavors are perfect for cold weather, and the burn is rock solid. Usually around $9-10 per stick. I pair it with a pour of something barrel proof and the cold stops mattering entirely.

CAO Flathead V660. It's a 60x6 gordo — basically a log. Full bodied, pepper and leather with a sweet finish, and the massive ring gauge means you'd need a hurricane to put it out. About $7-8 per stick, which is insane value. Not the most complex cigar in the world, but when it's 38 degrees and windy, complexity isn't what I'm after.

My Father La Opulencia Robusto. It's at the top of your budget at about $11, but the flavor is worth every penny — dark fruit, cinnamon, a chocolatey finish that lingers forever. Mexican San Andres wrapper gives it real depth. This is my "special cold night" cigar when I want something memorable.
