Our Mission
BoozeMakers exists to help people drink better — not more, just better. We publish in-depth spirit reviews, educational guides, maker interviews, and lifestyle content for adults who appreciate craft spirits, bourbon, whiskey, cigars, and homebrewing.
Everything we publish is held to the same standard: it should be honest, useful, and written by someone with genuine experience in the subject. We would rather publish nothing than publish something we do not stand behind.
Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on BoozeMakers are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This revenue helps cover the costs of running the site, purchasing bottles for review, and producing content.
Affiliate relationships never influence our reviews, scores, rankings, or recommendations. We recommend products because we genuinely believe they are worth your money, not because of commission rates. Products with higher affiliate payouts do not receive preferential treatment.
Where affiliate links are present, we disclose them clearly. If you prefer not to use affiliate links, you can always search for the product directly at the retailer of your choice.
Sponsored Content Policy
We occasionally publish sponsored content or accept advertising. When we do, it is always clearly labeled. Sponsored posts are marked "Sponsored" or "Paid Partnership" at the top of the article.
Sponsors do not receive editorial control over our content. They cannot approve, modify, or veto our articles, reviews, or opinions. Sponsorship is a business relationship, not an editorial one.
We decline sponsorships that conflict with our editorial values or that we believe would mislead our readers.
Review Samples
We occasionally receive complimentary bottles from distilleries, distributors, or PR agencies. When a review is based on a provided sample rather than a personal purchase, we disclose this in the review.
Receiving a sample does not guarantee coverage, and it never influences our scores or assessment. We review samples with the same methodology and standards as bottles we purchase ourselves. See our review methodology for full details.
Corrections Policy
We make mistakes. When we do, we correct them promptly and transparently:
- Minor corrections (typos, formatting, broken links) are fixed in place without annotation.
- Factual corrections (incorrect proof, wrong distillery, misattributed quotes) are fixed and noted with a correction statement at the bottom of the article, including the date of correction.
- Score changes happen only when we re-taste a spirit and our assessment has meaningfully shifted. The original score and the reason for the change are noted.
If you spot an error in any of our content, please let us know at corrections@boozemakers.com. We take accuracy seriously.
Content Attribution
Every article, review, and guide on BoozeMakers is attributed to a named author. We do not publish anonymous content. Author profiles list their expertise areas and article history so readers can assess the experience behind the writing.
All content is original unless explicitly cited. When we reference industry data, historical facts, or external research, we link to the source.
Alcohol Responsibility
BoozeMakers content is intended for adults of legal drinking age (21+ in the United States). We do not promote underage drinking, excessive consumption, or irresponsible behavior.
We believe in moderation, appreciation, and craft. Our reviews celebrate quality over quantity. If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol, the SAMHSA National Helpline (1-800-662-4357) provides free, confidential support 24/7.
Content about home distillation on this site is for educational purposes only. Home distillation of spirits is illegal without proper federal permits in the United States.
