Cardinal du Four Lunar Zodiac Series — The Year of the Horse
The unexpected bottle for the top shelf
Every guide needs a top shelf, and this is ours. The Year of the Horse opens Cardinal du Four's Lunar Zodiac Series with an assemblage of fifteen Armagnacs aged 21 to 43 years — roughly 30 on average — finished a further eighteen months in a Tierçon, the historic Gascon oak cask once used to mature and ship the spirit. Master blender François Thibault, whose career shaped some of the most recognized names in French spirits, bottled it at 42.1% for slow, contemplative sipping. The opaque black bottle with sculptural metal detailing and artwork by Shane Guffogg was designed to be kept, not recycled. Only 396 exist worldwide. For the man whose bar already holds the expected bottles, this is the unexpected one.
Perfect for: The collector whose bar already holds the expected bottles.
