About the distillery
Silverbelly Whiskey is country music icon Alan Jackson's bourbon brand — the operation that grew from a 2022 launch as a small-batch celebrity-selected whiskey into a multi-format premium spirits company anchored by a planned Nashville distillery and museum complex. The "Silverbelly" name comes from the color of the iconic light-gray cowboy hat Jackson has worn on stage for over 35 years across his career, and the brand identity is built around the connection between the hat (a Resistol Silverbelly that's become as recognizable as any single performer's signature stage prop in country music) and the whiskey that bears its name.
The brand's production identity has evolved meaningfully since the initial launch. Silverbelly debuted in 2022 with young bourbon sourced from the Green River Distilling Co. in Owensboro, Kentucky (DSP-KY-10, the 10th oldest continuously registered distillery in Kentucky), with each early batch hand-selected by Jackson and his team. After the third release the brand pivoted operationally toward more well-aged Tennessee bourbon — partly to better reflect Jackson's professional connection to Nashville, and partly to increase the average age statement on the bottlings as the brand's premium positioning matured.
