Location
Mythology Distillery is the Denver-based craft spirits operation with a founding story that begins on a 2016 heli-skiing trip to Alaska — three Denver natives who decided in the backcountry that the world needed another craft whiskey company, and then spent the next several years executing on that decision. The main public-facing operation runs out of a stunning LoHi (Lower Highlands) distillery and cocktail bar at 3622 Tejon Street in Denver, while the formal DSP and production-side facility is registered in Steamboat Springs — a dual-location structure that lets the brand maintain a high-traffic Denver cocktail program while keeping production cost structure in mountain-town real estate.
The technical hire that defines the brand's editorial reputation was Scott Coburn as Master Distiller. Coburn previously served as head distiller at High West Distillery (Utah's most editorially respected craft American whiskey producer), and his work at Mythology brought High West-grade blending and finishing technique to the Denver craft scene. The Mythology production setup uses a custom-built Vendome copper still — the same Kentucky-based still manufacturer that supplies the major bourbon producers — sized for small-batch production that supports both the LoHi cocktail program and the broader Mythology wholesale distribution.
The flagship Hell Bear American Whiskey is the brand's most-decorated product — a blended American whiskey combining a 30-month rye with 4-year and 5-year bourbon components, with the blend assembled and finished by Coburn personally. Hell Bear has won Platinum at multiple international spirits competitions and anchored Mythology's national distribution growth through the early 2020s. The expanded product range covers Mythology Foragers Gin (developed in collaboration with the Denver Botanic Gardens using foraged Colorado botanicals — one of the few American gins built around a partnership with a major public garden), Mythology Vodka, the Mythology Best Day Rye, and a rotating range of single-cask whiskey releases and seasonal limited bottlings.
The Tejon Street LoHi visitor experience is one of the most architecturally polished craft distillery cocktail bars in Denver. The custom Vendome still sits as the visual centerpiece, the bar program runs through the full Mythology range across both neat tasting flights and cocktail builds, and the LoHi location puts the operation walking distance from the broader LoHi restaurant cluster and the Highland Bridge that connects to downtown Denver. For visitors building a Denver craft-spirits cocktail-bar evening rather than a daytime production tour, Mythology is the natural anchor stop alongside Family Jones a few blocks over in the same LoHi neighborhood.
