Company Distilling

Company Distilling is the modern East Tennessee operation founded in 2019 by Heath Clark — formerly the founder of H. Clark Distillery — that's quickly grown into one of the larger craft Tennessee whiskey programs operating across multiple visitor locations in the region. Headquartered at the original Thompson's Station, Tennessee facility roughly 30 minutes south of Nashville in Williamson County, the company has expanded to a second visitor-and-production location in Townsend (the gateway town to Great Smoky Mountains National Park's quieter Cades Cove side) and a third in Lynchburg (the Jack Daniel's-adjacent Moore County town), giving Company Distilling three distinct visitor-accessible facilities across Middle and East Tennessee.

The brand's editorial frame is the multi-mountain-range geography that the three facilities collectively cover. Each location is positioned around a specific Tennessee region: Thompson's Station for the rolling hill country south of Nashville, Townsend for the Great Smoky Mountains, and Lynchburg for the Highland Rim country that surrounds the Jack Daniel's / George Dickel corridor. The visitor experience at each is designed as a regional showcase — tastings, tours, retail, and event programming that pull from each region's local food, music, and outdoor recreation identity.

The product range is built around the Company Distilling Tennessee Whiskey core line (charcoal-mellowed per the Tennessee whiskey legal standard), with single-barrel and small-batch expressions, the Maple Wood Finished Tennessee Whiskey (one of the few maple-wood-finished Tennessee whiskeys at any scale), and a rotating range of seasonal and location-specific releases that vary across the three facilities. Heath Clark's previous H. Clark Distillery work — known for the H. Clark Tennessee Bourbon and the highly-regarded H. Clark Tennessee Rye — provides the technical foundation for the Company Distilling production approach: traditional Tennessee whiskey methods with deliberate small-batch focus and a willingness to experiment with non-standard finishes.

The Thompson's Station main facility includes a full production tour, tasting room, retail program, and an outdoor event space that hosts regular weekend programming. The Townsend location pairs the distillery experience with proximity to the Cades Cove side of Great Smoky Mountains National Park — a quieter and less-trafficked alternative to the Gatlinburg corridor for visitors who want a Smoky Mountains trip without the peak-season crowds.
