How Old Do You Have to Be to Buy Cigars?

21. Under the federal Tobacco 21 law, signed December 20, 2019, the minimum age of sale for all tobacco products is 21, and that includes cigars. FDA's Tobacco 21 page says it applies to all retail establishments and persons with no exceptions. FDA checks both brick-and-mortar and online retailers for compliance.

So a cigar gift is for someone 21 or older. If the person on your list is 20, give the cutter or the humidor this year and the cigars next year.
